Miguel Colmenares first showed appreciation in the art of playing records in 2003. Since then, Miguel has been on a rapid rise,which has taken him to various clubs in Venezuela, Miami, New York and, The Hague, Holland. Miguel’s influences are taken from Minimal Techno, Deep House, Tech House, and Future Jazz.
These influences combined with Miguel’s Latin heritage make his sets and productions an eclectic mixture of styles. In 2006, Miguel created the Future Collective project, which alongisde the Art Tech Collective, has been behind the only Techno night in Miami called Pornograph (www.myspace.com/pornographmiami). Playing with guests like Stacey Pullen, Derrick May, and Bryan Zentz; Miguel has been able to absorb as much as possible from these legendary DJs to take his sets to another level.
Production wise, Miguel has recently seen his first solo release with Subtropical Records (www.subtropicalrecords.com) He also forms 1/2 of the Breach Boutique outfit, alongside Miami resident Michael Louis. The duo’s first release will come out later this year courtesy of the Daredo Music group.
Whether Miguel is playing an early chillout set, a deep warm up set, or a peak time set, he will surely take the crowd to a higher level in mind, body, and soul.
