Eric Brandy
Eric Brandy
Lyon,France

French electronic music producer born in 1981, bred by the electronic weekend radio sets of his local station, Eric Brandy began his musical life using old soundtrackers Atari-style around 1997. Still experimenting on computer based composition, he developed in parallel his activity of percussion by travelling in Africa, working with local groups and dancers. Back to France he formed several percussion groups in the city of Le Havre area, working with Congolese drummers and dancers and also producing some pre-studio tracks for a couple of hip-hop and African singers. In 2003 he formed ::Kali-Frogz:: together with Christophe Fabulet, releasing raw psy-techno tunes and downtempo on various international labels as Jester Recs (Canada), Horns&Hoofs (Russia/Poland), Peak Records (Switzerland), MightyFat, Agitato Records (Israel) and Manic Dragon (Australia). Focusing on his own personal projects, Eric as TheSnakepit released “Landscapes” in 2004, a solo experimental album under the Creative Common License on French Submachine.NET netlabel, with single tracks and mixes following. Now working under his real name and gathering his tastes and knowledge from people he has met, he explores the deep, rooty minimal percussive side of techno, trying to give some sense through his experimentation and enable the mind to expand as much as the legs do on a dancefloor. :::Body and soul into a ground connected groove:::
