Having been sneaking around the corners of production for more than 5 years.
Debuting with the “In this I heard You” EP on respected Netlabel Lifeform project in 2005, Layborn emerged with a handful of concepts and intrinsic rhythms.
Well received and never one to rush anything creative. He then released selected works with his full Album for Montreal’s renowned Archipel, including a remix with fellow producer “Süz”.
Together they have collaborated on remix work on San Franscisco’s De’fchild Productions under the alias that took months to decide on “Süz + Layborn”. Ruoho Ruotsi – Tants Doll (DCP004) 43 second late remix was a humble stretching of ideas between the two. This would lead to Süz + Layborn – Nuzzle Fudge EP (DCP006) (De’fchild) to be released in July 2007. Both artists work together and separately.
Presently, Layborn is a resident and fixture supporting O2 In The Basement at the Empire Cabaret with founders Süz + Oxide. He’s also a returning diplomat for Alter Ego Radio on 101.5 UMFM.
Soundwise, you can expect slices of stripped down beats and warm textural reverberations.
Layborn is currently focusing on more ideas, collaborations and live performances.
